What do you love the most about optical?

“Style and design are the easy answers, getting the right pair (or pairs) of glasses can do everything from completing a look to boosting your confidence, being able to see is a nice perk too. I also love the technical side of optical, dialing in on the proper lens design and material choices for each person. I even enjoy troubleshooting a pair of glasses that isn’t working quite right, it’s like solving a tricky puzzle piece by piece until you have the full picture.”

How do you spend your ideal Sunday?

“Family and friends. Anything from watching a movie with my nephew to a last-minute day trip to Duluth to go hiking.”

How many pairs of glasses do you own?

“That I actually wear? Including sunglasses I think I’m at 12, if we dig a little deeper (we all have the drawer) I’m sitting somewhere around 25 pairs.”

If you could only wear one pair of glasses for the rest of your life, what would they be and why?

“DON’T MAKE ME CHOOSE! – Assuming I’m choosing from the ones I have, I would choose my Chrome Hearts Sluntradiction, it’s a timeless style, easy to wear, and light weight.”

How long have you worked in the optical world?

“7 years.”

Tell us something that might surprise us about you.

“I have a first-degree black belt in karate.”

If you could have any superpower what would it be?

“Teleportation, I could be anywhere in an instant!”

If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you do?

“Take care of my family and then start traveling.”

When you have 30 minutes of free time, how do you spend it?

“Reading, if I have a little time, I like to grab whatever book I’m into and dive in for a bit.”

Who is your favorite frame designer and why?

“Chrome Hearts, they have amazing styles across the board, from super bold to something classic! Their attention to detail and quality of materials make the frames second to none, it’s probably why I own several pairs. 
Story time; when I first started with Art of Optiks I was not a fan of Chrome Hearts, I was convinced they weren’t my style. Once I learned a little about the brand I quickly fell in love and they quickly became my favorite line, I always look forward to the new collections!”
