What do you love the most about optical?

“People ask me all the time why I’ve stayed in the biz so long and I always say that there’s just nothing like it. An optician’s job combines technical, medical, and fashion elements. Being able to balance all three and gain the client’s trust and loyalty is my success.”

How do you spend your ideal Sunday?

” I love always having Sundays off. I can be very routine, so getting a coffee, reading the news, getting a workout in, and walking my pup are standards.”

What is your go-to Starbucks order?

“A venti Salted Caramel Cold Foam Cold Brew is my latest go-to.”

How many pairs of glasses do you own?

“Well, we’re past pairs and on to boxes. Lol. It’s out of control, but just from being in the biz so long. Ones that I’d still wear? Probably 15 clear and 15 sun.”

If you could only wear one pair of glasses for the rest of your life, what would they be and why?

“Likely my latest Lindberg N.O.W frames. I went nuts for the color as soon as I saw them. Knew they’d be mine. They’re also insanely lightweight but still have mad personality.”

How long have you worked in the optical world?

“It’s going on 28 years!”

What is your favorite place you’ve traveled to and why?

“Hands down the Haramara yoga retreat in Sayulita, Mexico. Living in secluded mountain side open walled casitas with no electricity or WiFi for total world disconnect, twice daily yoga, beach time, margaritas and fresh locally sourced food? Yes. Yes. Yes.”

What is the first concert you ever attended?

“Oh, no. Yeah…it was Debbie Gibson.”

Early bird or night owl?

“100% night owl!”

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

“I’d have to say either the ability to heal others, or…thinking more selfishly…I think being able to fly would be amazing.”

Who is your favorite frame designer and why?

“I like Jacques Marie Mage for the sheer beauty of his pieces and for being on the cutting edge of design and aesthetic. But, when it comes to my job, I can almost always find something from Bevel to work on just about everyone.”
